The government says there are two ways to do this:
1. EDPSE (Electronic Data Processing Specialist Eligibility)
- If you take computer classes or pass exams from DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology), you can apply.
- These classes can be about Java, Visual Basic, or how to design computer systems.
- After passing, you get a certificate. Then, you can ask the Civil Service Office for a special pass.
2. STSE (Scientific and Technological Specialist Eligibility)
- This is for people who finished a course in engineering, IT, or science.
- You also need:
- 3 years of experience in teaching or research OR
- A master’s or doctorate degree in your field
- 3 years of experience in teaching or research OR
- You apply through the DOST (Department of Science and Technology).
Why This Is Great
This means that skilled and trained computer engineers don’t need to take the regular exam to get a job in the government. As long as they meet the requirements, they can apply through these programs.
ICpEP-KSA encourages all computer engineering students and graduates to learn about these opportunities. This can help you find a good job and use your skills to serve the country.
Keep learning, keep coding, and always aim high!
