On March 28, 2025, our ICpEP-KSA President, Engr. Hazel G. Lampitoc, made a dedicated journey from Riyadh to Buraydah, Al Qassim for an Iftar meetup. The trip took 3 to 4 hours by car, covering over 370 kilometers—a true testament to his commitment to reconnecting with fellow members.

The gathering was joined by Engr. Aiyob Y. Ibrahim, Engr. Arthur Bello, and Engr. Jed Llenado, with a delicious dinner generously sponsored by Board Member Engr. Aiyob Y. Ibrahim. Beyond sharing a hearty meal, the evening offered a chance to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities for Filipino engineers in Saudi Arabia.

It was a rare occasion for members to sit together, away from the usual busy schedules and work routines. Being in a relaxed environment allowed everyone to speak freely and share their personal experiences. The meetup felt like a refreshing break where stories were exchanged, laughter was shared, and advice was freely given.

Conversations covered a wide range of topics including career growth, certification processes, and future plans for ICpEP-KSA. We also talked about the daily realities of living and working abroad, offering insights and support to one another. Despite differences in roles and experiences, we all shared the same passion for our profession and the desire to help one another succeed.

After dinner, the discussion continued over coffee at a nearby café. The relaxed setting allowed for deeper, more open conversations about our experiences and the shared challenges we face as Filipino engineers in Saudi Arabia. It also provided an opportunity to brainstorm ideas for future activities and projects that could benefit our community.

This visit strengthened our sense of community and commitment to supporting each other’s growth. The journey may have been long, but the experience made it all worthwhile. We parted ways with fresh ideas, stronger connections, and a renewed sense of unity.

It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of staying connected and supporting each other, regardless of the distance. We look forward to more opportunities to gather, share, and grow together.

Mabuhay, ICpEP-KSA!
